Thanks to my friends - Arturo and his cousin Dayan for playing Trent and his wife. Dayan is Arturo’s cousin and she was an actress in Costa Rica! As much as some viewers like me to play ALL the roles - I couldn’t at all imagine myself playing Trent. Since I only have basic editing software (iMovie HD) - I wouldn’t be able to put both of us in a shot together if I played Trent.
I wanted to definitely capture the angst when Audrey finally gets to Trent, and his wife’s reaction to it all. That would be impossible to get all that in one shot and have me play everyone hahahah. One day I will have Final Cut Pro and will be able to see how that would work.
It was a joy however, to pull something unexpected again by using Spanish speaking actors - so as to bring in the Spanish novella… The “woe is me” melodrama of the Spanish soap operas. Arturo by the way, is the exact opposite of Trent and is one of the most honorable men you could ever meet. Their family is like meeting instant family! Dayan was so gracious to walk in that day, and there I am dressed as Audrey with all this red lipstick caked on - saying “By the way, this is who you are going to act as today!”
People keep asking me where I got my white coat - and it is from H&M and I got it on clearance after Thanksgiving heh heh. (Black Friday sales) However, you may notice that I have a big ugly black tar stain on the left arm. I don’t know how that got there, but I’m figuring perhaps it got there from the last Soap Opera where I kept leaning against subway stuff. ooops
That car in the end is not my car, but a rented Zipcar. You can rent them by the hour. So yes, as many observant viewers have noticed - it was parallel parked for the entire scene. Talk about ghetto production!! Yes, I know the lighting was bad, but the flashlight in my face looked worse. It was too cold and the hour rental was running out, so I felt rushed to just use the interior car lights.
I’m so glad that you get the “Mixed Nuts” reference. You may think then that the horse story isn’t real then. No no - that really did happen, and I was the nurse that checked on the lady that was hyperventilating. I just thought for the video’s purposes - it would be an interesting surprise, if I made Audrey that lady.
