This awesome song by Jason Mraz was successfully planted into my brain and won’t seem to leave ever since Chris Cendana sang his cover of it. I felt it was a must sing for the HappySlip site because the song really does make one feel light, bubbly, and well just happayyy.

Thanks to Jana for playing guitar and harmonizing! Hope this gives you a smile today as this song has me smiling nonstop. hahaha

So I had the BEST time at the Houston YouTube gathering and I’m working on editing some clips together. Meanwhile, I have been constantly listening to this cover of Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours” by Chris Cendana. It is guaranteed to put a smile on your face! He uses the cup beat that I used in my HappySlip Jingle video which comes from a kids show called Zoom. So now I am inspired to perhaps use this same song somehow. Just makes one feel sooo happayy!! hahha! You guys should check out Chris’ YouTube channel where he posts his original music as well. Subscribe to his awesomeness!!

Friendster account also closed

I have also deleted my Friendster profile because of the same “Filipina” ads that were showing up. (screenshots below) I thought at first that they were being filtered out because of requests sent to Friendster as long as 4 months ago, and I didn’t see the ads for a while. However, I recently just saw the ads below and saw that it is more of a difficult process to deal with on that platform.

Google has been very good regarding my YouTube account and upon request -started to filter them from showing up next to videos. Revver, who also displays Google ads fixed the situation by filtering the ads immediately. In the end, I have decided to stick with those sites that allow more control of the ads that show up. As far as the friends on those closed MySpace and Friendster accounts, I invite you to join the community here on my website. More of my thoughts on this issue are found on my post about MySpace.

MySpace account deleted

If you were one of the 34,000+ friends that I had on myspace profile before, I did not delete you individually, but rather had to cancel that whole profile. About 2 months ago, I had warned all my previous MySpace friends that I might need to delete my MySpace account because of inappropriate ads powered by Google. Those ads are in direct conflict with the HappySlip brand and especially misrepresentative of Filipina women. Here is a screenshot of the latest.

MySpace did try to find solutions to this problem, but ultimately are bound by certain legal agreements with Google. So I decided to go ahead and cancel the account. After finding that anyone could claim the myspace url for happyslip - I went ahead and reserved the url again to direct people as to where the community has gone.

I did not want to subject my prior friends to more of the degrading ads which is why I will not build on that new clean profile. (since the ads are programmed to follow the name of HappySlip on myspace) Because I don’t want to contribute to more visual impressions of that type of advertising, I will not add friends to that profile. I will rather communicate with you here on this site, where I can control what type of ads show up.

According to a Human Protection Law enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines, it is unlawful “To establish or carry on a business which has for its purpose the matching of Filipino women for marriage to foreign nationals either on a mail order basis or personal introduction”. It is unlawful “To solicit, enlist or in any manner attract or introduce any Filipino woman to become a member in any club or association whose objective is to match women for marriage to foreign nationals either on a mail order basis or through personal introduction for a fee”. This law was enacted to “take measures to protect Filipino women from being exploited in utter disregard of human dignity in their pursuit of economic upliftment.”
